The price of an item is $10\%$ cheaper in an online store $\text{S}$ compared to the price at another online store $\text{M}$. Store $\text{S}$ charges  $\text{₹ }150$ for delivery. There are no delivery charges for orders from the store $\text{M}$. A person bought the items from the store $\text{S}$ and saved  $\text{₹ } 100$.

What is the price of the item at the online store $\text{S}$ (in $\text{₹}$) if there are no other charges than what is described above?

We can draw the table for better understanding.

$\begin{array}{lll} & \textbf{S} & \textbf{M} \\ \text{Cost price:} & 90x & 100x \\ \text{Delivery charge:} & \text{₹ }150 & \text{₹ }0 \end{array}$

A person bought the items from the store $\text{S}$ and saved  $\text{₹ }100$.

So, $90x + 150  = 100x – 100$

$\Rightarrow -10x = -250$

$\Rightarrow {\color{Blue}{\boxed{x = 25}}}$

$\therefore$  The price of the item at the online store $\text{S}$, if there are no other charges includes $ = 90x = 90 \times 25 = \text{₹ }2250.$

Let Cost of item on store M be x.

Thus, cost of item in store S is 0.9x (10% cheaper)

"Brought from S and saved Rs.100"

This tells us that total price (including Rs.150 of delivery charges) is still Rs.100 less than the price of item listed on store M.( as there are no other charges)

Thus, 0.9x + 150  = x - 100

Solving the equation, we get x = 2500 i.e price on store M is Rs.2500

Thus, Price on Store S is Rs.2250 (10% cheaper than price on X )
Hence, option A.
